 | WHAT TO EXPECT ON YOUR FIRST VISIT
Upon arrival to Open Hands, check in with the volunteer at the desk and show your ID. You will be asked for the number and ages of individuals in your household. Depending on the number of clients ahead of you, you may be asked to wait until your name is called.
On your first visit we will set up a file for you. A volunteer will conduct a brief, confidential interview which will help us assess your needs prior to distributing food and/or toiletries. We will need you to provide social security numbers for all members of the household for which you will be receiving food/toiletries.
You will be given a supply of food and toiletries taking into consideration the number, ages, and special needs of members of your household. |
 | SUBSEQUENT VISITS Clients may visit Open Hands once every 30 days. You will be asked for photo identification listing residency in Oakland County residency on each visit. Upon arrival to the food pantry, check in with the volunteer at the desk and show your ID at least 15 minutes prior to closing time. You will be asked for the number and ages of individuals in your household.
